Jewelry Studio 13
Jewelry Studio 13 was born in 2014 by renovating the warehouse of Machiya Ryokan Machiyado Tomura in Fushimi, Kyoto.
The designer, who is the 13th generation of the family, will send out new jewelry in the place that has been handed down for generations.
Most of the processes are hand-crafted by designers, and as fashion jewelry,
Alternatively, we propose jewelry that can be enjoyed as an art piece.
Designer Profile
Taku Matsumura
Born in Fushimi, Kyoto in 1986 as the 13th second son of the Matsumura family.
After graduating from Ritsumeikan University, transferred to Kyoto University of Art and Design in the third year and learned the basics of jewelry production.
After that, he studied under Mr. Yuji Kojima, designer of Geodesique, and in May 2011, he opened the jewelry brand “Rathio” at JR Osaka Mitsukoshi Isetan.
After the dissolution of Rathio in July 2013, the jewelry brand “13” was launched in April 2014.
